Wilson "Peanut" Byrd, 76, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. Born September 9, 1935 in Lincoln Co., Ky., he was the son of Lucy Byrd. Wilson worked at Hazlett Construction, was a farmer and a member of the Pentecostal Church. He was a very hardworking man and loved animals. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Byrd Robinson, a son, Kenneth Ray Byrd and two brothers, Robert Byrd and Harold Byrd. Survivors include two daughters, Flossie Garland of Lancaster and Barbara James of Evansville, Ind., two sisters, Helen Benedict of Danville and Mary Ann Benedict of Moreland, eleven grandchildren, Billy Burton, James Byrd, Tommy Yamercheek, Ryan Robinson, Christopher Robinson, Lauren Robinson, Alicia Sanders, Michael Sanders, Larry Byrd, Sarah Garland and Brittany Thomas and eighteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Thursday at 1 pm at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dale Benedict, Rebel Sears, Wesley Benedict, Dean Byrd, Eric Coffman and Jaden Byrd. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home.
