Thomas Joe Grubbs, 63, died August 7, 2011 at his residence. Born February 1, 1948 in Danville, he was the son of the late William Horace and Mae Belle Vaught Grubbs. He was a retired railroad yardman a member of Junction City First Baptist Church, and an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren race karts. Survivors include a daughter, Angie (Eddie) Hasty of Junction City, three brothers, Bobby (Helen) Grubbs, Ray (Phyllis) Grubbs and Donald Grubbs, five grandchildren, Brittany Murphy, Jeremy Grubbs, Jordan Grubbs, Heather Hasty and Cruz Hasty, and three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kaiden and Kamryn Murphy. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Grubbs and a sister, Billie Jean Layer. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Larry Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jeremy and Jordan Grubbs, Eddie Hasty, Jeff Johnson, Donnie Pass and Nelson Grubbs. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin "Poodle" Boyd, Duck Pass, Ed Hasty, Jimmy Wilson and Charles "Cactus" Lamb. Visitation is Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City from 5-8 pm.
