Stanley Smith

Stanley Lane Smith, 62, of Stanford, KY passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born October 11, 1955 in Stanford to the late Tommy and Sallie Newcomb Smith, he worked for Pioneer Workshop in Danville for over 30 years. He was a member of SPAN, Kentucky Special Olympics, and First Missionary Baptist Church of Stanford. Survivors include his siblings, Tommy Smith, Jr. (Connie) of Stanford, KY, Nancy Smith of Stanford, KY, Jeff Smith (Sherian) of Lexington, KY, Kenny Mac Smith (Donna) of Stanford, KY, Jeanette Smith of Stanford, KY, Jack Smith (Dianne) of Danville, KY, Donelle Smith (Regina) of Stanford, KY, Glenda Smith of Stanford, KY, and Lee Ann Hinkle of Stanford, KY; two aunts, Emma Stanley of Ohio, and Carloyn Guest of Danville, KY; one uncle, Jimmy Newcomb (Gwen) of Lancaster, KY; two special cousins, Clark Newcomb (Yolanda), and Elaine Jamison (Ronnie) both of Ellenwood, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Newcomb. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5-8pm at First Missionary Baptist Church of Stanford. Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, February 16, 2018 at the church with Reverends Floyd Raglin and Jerry Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be: Andrew Smith, Kenny James Smith, J. Smith, Greg Foley, Brandon Smith, and Tommy Lee Carpenter. Honorary bearers are: Pioneer Workshop Employees, Sara Givens, Johnny Stull, Gary Adkins, Farris Marcum, Chase Marcum, George Penman, and George Reid. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Pioneer Workshop in Danville, KY.
