Ruth King

September 14, 1945 — June 5, 2012

Ruth Ellen King, age 66 passed away on Tuesday June 5, 2012 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Ruth was born in Boyle Co. on September 14, 1945 to the late Jim and Clementine Burger Strevels.

Mrs. King was most recently a security guard at Phillips Lighting for many years also having worked at Jackson of Danville. She loved to complete crossword puzzles, attend church where she was a member at Pleasant Run Baptist Church, and especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances (Ed) Neal and Brenda (Jimmy) Cook both of Parksville, three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews including James (Laura) Strevels and Sheila (Dewayne) Alcorn whom she considered like a son and daughter and her former husband and lifelong friend Donnie King.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson; three sisters, Mary Bell King, Frances Coffman and Tina LoGue and two brothers, Jack Strevels and Jimmy Strevels.

Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday June 9, 2012 at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro, Junior Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday evening. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James Strevels, Bryon Strevels, Johnny King, Mark King, Delbert Wayne King, and Dewayne Alcorn. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Strevels and Michael Logue.

Per the families' request, donations may be made to Pleasant Run Baptist Church 10560 Forkland Road Parksville, KY 40464
