Rose Matherly

Danville-- Rose Marie Harris Matherly, age 79 passed away on Thursday July 25, 2013. Rose was born on January 18, 1934 in Boyle Co. to the late George and Elizabeth Egger Harris.

Mrs. Matherly was a member of the Junction City First Baptist Church for many years. She worked at Corning Glass for 26 years, The Red Cross for 5 years and the Kentucky State University for 15 years in the family development and management program.

Rose is survived by her two sons, Clyde (Anna) Matherly of Harrodsburg and Jeffrey Matherly of Danville; two grandchildren, Aaron & Ashley Matherly of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Elfreida (Dick) Weaver of Danville and Joyce (Harold) Upton of Stanford. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clyde Matherly, one sister, Libby Thompson and one brother, Sonny Harris.

Pallbearers will be Harold Upton Jr., Stevie Weaver, Joey Harris, Robert Overstreet, Rickey Upton and Aaron Matherly. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Chidester and Mrs. Matherly's Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 1:00PM Monday, July 29, 2013 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville, KY. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM with Rev. Ernest Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens
