Rita Ruth Lancaster, 73, of Estero, Florida, passed away on August 3, 2023.
She was born in Versailles, Kentucky on May 30, 1950, to the late Robert True and Elsie Margaret Mulcahy Lancaster. Rita grew up in a loving and supportive family as one of five children.
Surviving her memory include a daughter, Traci L. Johnson of Mississippi; a son, James W Bowers, Jr. of Florida; four grandchildren, Olivia Johnson (20) and Maggie Johnson (17) of Mississippi, Blake Bowers (15) and Hudson Bowers (13) of Florida; two sisters, Joyce Walls of Danville and Maxine (Ray) Willis of Lexington; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Neale "Bobbie" Lancaster, and a brother, William Clay Lancaster.
Rita exemplified a strong and unwavering faith in Christ, which became the foundation of her life's journey and the guiding force behind her actions, decisions, and relationships. Her immense love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, and she lived each day as a testament to His teachings of compassion, kindness, and forgiveness.
Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and genuine interest in others' well-being touched the hearts of countless people within her community. Rita would always seek out opportunities to help others in need and could always be counted on to offer a listening ear to those going through tough times as she embodied the true essence of Christian kindness.
Her unwavering faith sustained her through life's trials and tribulations, serving as a beacon of hope in times of darkness. Rita firmly believed that her eternal home awaited her in Heaven, where she would be reunited with loved ones and bask in the everlasting presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
While we grieve the loss of Rita in our lives, we take solace in knowing that her legacy of faith, love, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Let us honor her memory by living out the values she held dear and sharing the message of Christ's love with the world.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Rita's life at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Danville Memorial Gardens, 4627 Stanford Road, Danville, Kentucky. Services will be officiated by Bro. Tony Andrade.
