Ramona Hammonds Gehlhausen, of Williamstown, KY. and formerly of Corinth, KY. passed away Monday, July 30 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY. at the age of 75. Mrs. Gehlhausen was born October 6, 1936 in Pennington Gap, VA. to the late William Henry Hammonds and Cassie Selvey Hammonds. Mrs. Gehlhausen was a retired food service coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Corrections in Burgin, KY. and attended the Pentacostal church. She was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilliary of Stanford, KY. and the Ladies Auxilliary of the VFW in Danville, KY.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gehlhausen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Gehlhausen on May 27, 2000.
Mrs. Gehlhausen leaves to mourn her passing 5 sons: Terry (Linda) Allen of Corinth, KY., Danny (Lowavia) Allen of Lancaster, KY., Paul (Jamie) Allen of Lancaster, KY., Frank (Laura) Allen of London, KY. and Hughie (Donna) Allen of Lancaster, KY., 1 sister: Rajamah Drake of Terra Haute, IN., 2 brothers: Fred (Merle) Hammonds of El Paso, TX. and Don (Susie) Hammonds of Mooresville, IN. She has 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gehlhausen will be conducted 8:00 pm Thursday, August 2 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Rev. Joe Howard officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Committal service and burial will be 11:00 am Friday, August 3 at the Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, KY. with Rev. B. J. Taylor officiating.
