Norman Reed

Lawrence Norman Reed, 87 of Danville, died Monday March 16, 2015. Born February 21, 1928 in Detroit, Mi., he was the son of the late Lon and Bessie Rachel Bastin Reed. Norman was a graduate of Highland High School of Lincoln County where he played basketball for the Highland Aviators. Norman retired from Corning after 37 years of service. Norman was also a Mason at the Franklin Lodge # 28. He loved to fish and enjoyed tending his vegetable and flower gardens. He was a good daddy and grandpa who liked Nascar and the Wildcats. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Carolyn Faye Reed and brothers, Gene Reed and Sherman Reed.

Norman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye "Bea" Reed, 2 sons, David Lawrence (Marcia Wesley) Reed of Louisville and Larry Wayne (Carolyn) Reed of Crab Orchard, 2 grandchildren, Kara Reed (James) Sanders and Kamil Reed (Anthony) Stilger, and 4 great grandchildren Reed Warren Sanders, Ryan Wesley Sanders, Harrison Lawrence Stilger, and Hudson Lee Stilger.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday March 20, 2015 at Stith Funeral Home with Odis Clark and Mike Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4 p.m., Thursday March 19, 2015 at Stith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Reed, Mike Reed, Johnny Reed, Casey Reed, Amos Sharp, Beverly Young, John Sharp, and Terry Brown. Memorial donations are suggested to Indian Hills Christian Church.
