Nancy Reed Scharbrough, 69, of Stanford, KY passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at home. Born April 21, 1948 in Moreland, KY to the late Perry Reed and Flossey Hill Reed, she was the widow of the late James E. Scharbrough. She was a homemaker for most of her life, enjoyed volunteering with Comp Care Services, and was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her five children; Brenda Sue Goldsborough (Stuart) of Lexington, KY, Linda Carol Durham of Stanford, KY, Johnnie Lou Mason (Christopher) of Statham, GA, Troy James Scharbrough (Melissa) of Lexington, KY, and Philip C. Scharbrough of Stanford, KY, two step-children; Joseph Henry Scharbrough (Shirley) of Bixby, OK, and Eddie Ray Scharbrough of Farmington, NM, one brother; Harold Reed of Indiana, one sister; Shirley Timmons (Gene) of Marion, IN, fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two step-children; Robert Lee Scharbrough and Mary Elizabeth Turner, six brothers; Johnny Reed, Vernon Reed, Mervin Reed, William Reed, Bobby Reed, and Michael Reed, and two sisters; Lillian Reed and Lula Belle Reed. Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, June 30, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Melvin Sisson officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
