Mrs. Masie "Shang" Stallworth Norward, age 70, was called to her eternal home on March 8, 2014. Masie was born April 30, 1943 in Montgomery, Alabama to the union of Bobby Lee and Mary Stallworth. The family moved to Kentucky in 1945, and Masie graduated from Bate High School in Danville in 1961.
She moved to the New York in 1963 and married Bobby Norward, Sr. in 1967 and they were blessed with two children. She continued to live and work in New York until her illness.
Masie started her Christian walk at Stony Point Predestinarian Baptist Church in Danville. After moving to the state of New York, she united with Zion Baptist Church in Porchester. In 1969 she moved to Mount Vernon, New York and united with Macedonia Baptist Church, she was still a member there until her death.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, James Stallworth, and Arthur Bright; one sister, Lucille Bellamy.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Djuana Norward, Yonkers, NY; one son, Bobby "Pete" Norward, Jr., Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Lachandra Norward, Javon Norward, Shaquille McPherson, and O'Neal Drain, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Solara Norward; two sisters, Mary (Sam) Meaux and Margaret (Carl) Singleton of Danville; two brothers, Joe Stallworth, Atlanta, GA and Bobby Stallworth, Baypine, FL; one aunt, Betty (Leroy) Stanford, Danville; three uncles, L.J. "Nick" (Rita) Bates, Danville, Alphonso (Mary) Campbell and Hubert Floyd of Youngstown, OH; a special sister, Gloria Stallworth; a special niece, Michael Meaux, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
