Madeline Gelea Bradley Nicholas, 83, of Danville, died Monday, July 14, 2014. Born April 21, 1931 in Dykes, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Harlan and Stella Olive Hargis Bradley. Gelea worked at Palm Beach for 37 years and enjoyed racing, helping at the family gas station, gardening and was an avid bowler. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Morning Star Sunday School Class. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clifton Bradley, Delano Chandler Bradley, and brothers-in-law, Buddy Smiley and Glen Bolin and sister-in-law, Ruby Bolin.
Gelea is survived by her husband, Chester Nicholas of Danville, a daughter, Virginia "Lou" Nicholas (Clyde) Rogers of Danville, siblings, Dennis (Carolyn) Bradley, Wayne (Leslie) Bradley, Ruby Miller, Polly Gill, and Patricia Smiley, sisters-in-law, Shirley Bradley, Peggy Bradley, grandchildren, Clyde (Lisa) Rogers II, Missy Rogers (Brian) Angolia, and great grandchild, Chessie Rogers, niece, Vicki (Tony) Albiero, great nieces and nephews, Bo (Diana) Bentley, Bryar Bentley, Brynn Bentley, and Austen (Rachel) Bentley.
The funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Friday July 18, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Curt Herrington officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1 Friday July 18, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.Pallbearers will be David Arnold, Brian Angolia, Tony Albiero, Clyde Rogers II, Will Arnold, and Clyde Rogers. Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of your choice.
