Obituary for Leslie J. Knies
Harrodsburg- Leslie J. Carmicle Knies, age 41 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 26, 2012. She was born in Boyle, Co., KY to Phillip Carmicle and the late Linda Merrick Phillips and was the wife Randy Knies.
Mrs. Knies worked as a front desk agent at Best Western Hotel in Danville, KY. She loved to search for and collect arrowheads, catfish in her pond, cook, spend time talking with friends on Facebook and above all loved and adored spending time with her family.
Along with her loving husband, she is survived by her father, Phillip (Marchetta) Carmicle of Danville; two daughters, Angela Renee Crank of Lancaster and Amanda Dawn Benedict of Gravel Switch; two step-sons, Jeremy Alan Knies of Lexington and Joshua Aaron (Jennifer) Knies of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Jimmy K. Galloway of West Liberty and Brandon Galloway of Loris, SC; four sisters, Natasha Galloway of Monticello, Lori K. Carmicle of Nicholasville, Jennifer Applegate of Stanford and Leah Clark of Perryville; one grandmother, Bernice E. Merrick and seven grandchildren, Aaliyah, Katie, Daniel, Aubry, JoJo, Carmine and Kaydence . She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Charlie and Alice Carmicle and George P. Merrick III
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Knies, Dustin Finley, Alan Finley, Dylan Merrick, Brandon Galloway and Brian Knies. Honorary pallbearers will be Kristie Finley and Mrs. Knies co-workers at Best Western Hotel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with John Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM-9:00PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
