Kenneth Releford Sr

Kenneth LeRoy Releford, Sr., 73, widower of Patricia Mae Merchant Releford, and husband of Faye Lipps Releford, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at his residence. Born July 7, 1943 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Ottes (Billy) and Ruby C. Trimble Releford. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, served as Pastor at Pleasant Run Baptist Church for Twenty Two Years, retired from the Boyle County Board of Education after working as a Bus Driver and Maintenance Worker for Twenty Four Years, and was a member of the Dry Branch Baptist Church.

He enjoyed raising vegetables in his garden, feeding hummingbirds, was an avid UK Basketball Fan, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors besides his wife include one son Kenneth "Dud" (Dolly) Releford, Jr. of Harrodsburg, four daughters: Tammy (Robby) Wilham of Mercer County, Tanya (Kevin) McMullin of Boyle County, and Kristi (Chico) Gonzalez-Releford of Nicholasville, and Debra (James) Parker of Stanford. Two brothers: Donnie (Betty) Releford of Harrodsburg and Bill (Patty) Releford of Danville. Twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother Cleo Releford.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Releford and Bro. Ernest Fields, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens with grandsons: Jason Wilham, Kent Wilham, Brandon Wilham, Derrick Releford, Isaiah Frye, Jairo Gonzalez, Nathanael Parker, and Chris Skinner serving as active pallbearers. Granddaughters and Great Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29 and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
