DANVILLE - Kenneth Franklin Davenport, age 83, of Cloverdale Drive, died Monday, November 29, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Monday, July 11, 1927, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Frank and Earsie Jane Nolan Davenport. Kenneth was a farmer and former 8 year employee of KSD. He was a member of Gravel Switch Methodist Church and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his dear wife, whom he wed on December 20, 1966, Audrey Rose Webb Davenport; brothers-in-law, Quincie Blevins and David Webb, both of Danville and George (wife, Wanda) Brady, Jr. of Florence; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Davenport of Indiana, Phyllis Jean Davenport of Danville, and Rosiland Davenport of Richmond; nephew, James Sutton, Sr. of Frankfort; and nieces, Constance Kendred of Zephyr Hills, FL and Rebecca Charlene Brady of Florence.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Howard, and Marvin Davenport and sisters, Betty Blevins and Frances Sutton.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ollie Mae Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
James M. Sutton, Sr., Reggie Davenport, Richard D. Mayes, Roy Milburn, Jeff Ryan, and Greg Lewis will serve as pallbearers. Dr. David Overstreet, Joe Robinson, Glen Coppage, George Davidson, Quincie Blevins, Beverly Young, Jimmy Cocanougher, and Jimmy Glasscock will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
