Kenneth Wayne Curtis, age 48, of Danville, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Tuesday, December 29, 1959 in Danville, he was the son of Juanita Vance Curtis of Danville and the late Jasper Curtis. He was the former owner/operator of Curtis Plumbing and a former plumber for Hazlett Mechanical. He was the youngest master plumber in Kentucky when he received his license. He was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of Darrell Waltrip, a member of Immanuel Baptist church and a former member of Jaycee's.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon Underwood Curtis of Danville; a son, Kyle Wayne Curtis of Lexington; a daughter, Kayla (Tony) Mount of Louisville; his mother, Juanita Vance Curtis of Danville; two brothers, Larry (Cindy) Curtis of Boyle County and Archie (Joella) Curtis of Junction City; and two sisters, Nancy (David) Brown of Danville and Anita (Eddie) Cummings of Junction City.
Services will be 11 AM Monday, March 3, 2008 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. David Crowe, Bro. Harold Best and Larry Curtis. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tony Mount, Phillip Anderson, Doug Wilson, Ricky Clark, Jesse Logue, Jeremy Curtis, Dennis Toadvine and Darrell Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug, Robbie and Chris Underwood, Jared Reinsmith, Adam and Lewis Curtis and Eddie Huggins.
Memorial donations are requested to the American Cancer Society or the NASCAR Foundation.
