Joyce Underwood

Joyce Lynn Hudson Underwood, age 67 passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Joyce was born on October 30, 1944 to the late Lawrence and Mary Lee Mitchell Hudson in Boyle Co., KY.

Mrs. Underwood was a bus driver for more than 20 years for the Senior Citizens Group in Mercer County and touched many lives during her time there. She very rarely ever met a stranger. She loved to go to yard sales, was an avid studier of genealogy having traced many generations of her family and above all loved spending time with her family.

Along with her husband Ernest Underwood, Joyce is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Marsha) Underwood, Douglas (Natalie) Underwood, and Chris Underwood; one daughter, Mary Eva (Chad Henninger) Underwood; one aunt, Helen Simpson; eleven grandchildren, Kathryn Underwood, Sarah Underwood, Wesley Underwood, Angela Underwood, Darrin Ward, Lindsey Underwood, Julia Hagen, Rebekah Hagen, Ryan Underwood, Abby Lynn Underwood and Cameron Underwood; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah Norton, Landon Alford, Kaylee Norton, Alyssa Alford and Wyatt Norton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home with Pastor David Crowe and Pastor Mike Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday evening.

Pallbearers will be Darrel Underwood, Kyle Curtis, Milton Hammons, Marcus Underwood, Robert Underwood, Wesley Underwood, Benjamin Underwood and Wayne Reinsmith. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrin Ward, Donald Logue, Donald Lynn, Donald Underwood, Harley Davidson, Jared Reinsmith, John Michael Mitchell, William Simpson, Chad Henninger and Randy Alford.

Per the families' request, donations may be made to any local Hospice agency.
