John Thomas "J.T." Hafley, 79, of Vam Ct., in Lancaster, KY passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born Saturday, May 16, 1931 in Hustonville, KY. He was the son of the late Henry and Lillie Barlow Hafley. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict, was a retired John Deere salesman, and member of the Gilberts Creek Baptist Church in Lancaster.
Survivors include a son, Tommy (Deana) Hafley of Lancaster, two daughters, Linda Grubbs of Lancaster and Connie (the late Gerald) Gordon of Junction City, a brother, Charles Hafley of Lexington, a sister, Jane Newton of Lexington, 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hughes Hafley.
Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 12 noon at Ramsey Funeral Home with Rev. Morris Trayner officiating and burial following at Danville Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Caswell Saufley Post 18 of the American Legion. . Pallbearers will be Ricky Allen, Josh Messer, Chuck Gordon, Billy Webb, B.J. Price, and Howard Goldberg. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sunday School Class of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 6-9 P.M. at Ramsey Funeral Home. Ramsey Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
