James "Eddie" Edward Wade, 79, of Danville, died Tuesday, January 13, 2014. Born August 5, 1935 to Edward Lee and Elda French Wade, he was a glassblower at Corning-Phillips for 48 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army 100th Division. An avid UK fan, he loved being outdoors, camping and throwing horse shoes. He also coached basketball for the recreational league. He was predeceased by his wife, Vivian Messinger Wade, and two brothers, Joe Wade and Carter Wade.
Survivors include his daughter, Melanie Wade (Rick) McDonald of Lexington, a son, James D. (Denise) Wade of Perryville, two grandchildren, Nicholas (Cody) Wade and Holly Kayla (Beau) Kent, and two great grandchildren, Jack Dee Kent and Ella Ray Kent.
The funeral will be 11 a.m., Friday at Willow Grove Baptist Church. Rev. John Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday at Willow Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Saufley Post #18.
