James Madison Hurt, Sr., 87 of Junction City died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. Born Jan. 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Charlie Dennis and Emily Grace Smith Hurt. He was a World War II, US Army veteran. He worked for Corning Glass and Phillips Lighting from 1952-1988. He loved his church and church family at Junction City United Methodist. He loved to travel and camped until his health failed. He enjoyed making wood crafts. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Dale Turpin. To this marriage was born James M. (Gail) Hurt, Jr. of Junction City; Mark A. (Lecia) Hurt of Danville; and Evelyn Faith (Mark) Grigsby of Stanford. He is also survived by 2 children, Joyce (Ben) Vest of Danville and Glen (Pat) Hurt of Edmonton; 2 brothers: Ivan Hurt of Lexington and Elbert (Betty) Hurt of Tuscon, Arizona; 9 grandchildren: Jordan (Jessica), Adam and Alex Grigsby, Elizabeth Keeley, Holly Hurt, Joseph Hurt, Jason Hurt, Scott Vest and Dawn Semones; and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother and sisters-in-laws: Bobby G. Turpin of Crab Orchard, A. David Turpin of Martinsville, IN, Margie Lawson of Cincinnati, OH, Elsie Hair of Junction City, and Bonnie Turpin and Audrey Hurt of Danville. He was preceded in death by brothers: Willie, John and George and sister, Mattie Kennedy. Services 11 AM, Thurs. at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Wells with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jordan, Adam and Alex Grigsby, Jason Hurt, Bobby Turpin and Mark Grigsby. Honorary pallbearers are the Junction City UMC Fellowship class. Visitation is 5-8 PM,
