James Thomas Baker II, 74, of Danville, passed away November 29, 2021 at VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on November 15, 1947 to the late DeWayne and Gertrude Baker. Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Baker.
He worked for Whirlpool for many years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He loved to mow yards and adored his children and grandchildren. Jim loved joking with his family and was as quick witted as they come. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving is a son, Jimmy Baker of Danville; three daughters, Becky Lynch (Bruce) of Richmond, Barbie Cooley (Chris) of Danville, and Stephanie Ridge (Michael) of Danville; a brother, Gary Baker (Kathy) of Bowling Green; two sisters, Gwen Baker Boling (John) of Elizabethtown and Phyllis Baker Bryant (Darrell) of Danville and grandchildren, Abby Cooley, Ashaley Cooley, Kristofer Baker, Savannah Campbell, Ty Noland, Sara Ridge, Jasmine Ridge, and Makenna Baker.
Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. A private family funeral will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021. Burial will follow with military honors in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers will Jimmy Baker, Stephanie and Michael Ridge, Barbie and Chris Cooley and Becky and Bruce Lynch.
