Howard Hixson

Danville- Howard H. "Sonny" Hixson, age 70 passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012. He was born on June 29, 1942 to the late Howard and Rachel Barnett Hixson in Boyle Co., KY.

Mr. Hixson was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served as a airplane fuel specialist. He was an electrician and loved to hunt, fish, collect guns and knives and had even built several flint lock rifles himself. He taught hunter safety and education for many years and was a member of several sporting clubs and associations.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Marilyn Smith Hixson; three sons, Dale, Troy and Jeffrey Hixson; one brother, Daniel Hixson; one sister, Irma Kenley and one grandson, Zachariah Hixson

Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00pm on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with funeral services following on Monday at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Per the families' request, donations may be made to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation #1 Sportsman's Lane Frankfort KY 40601. This charity helps teach children about hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
