Giles White Jr.

Giles “Junebug” White, Jr., 60, died January 20, 2020 in Stanford. Born July 27, 1959 in Danville to the late Thelma Wray and Giles White, Sr. He attended Harrodsburg High School and was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church. He worked in commercial construction as a carpenter. Giles was a full-blown avid UK Basketball fan. He also loved Nascar races and his favorite racer was No. 48, Jimmy Johnson. Giles loved to turtle, squirrel, rabbit and groundhog hunt. He also loved to fish.In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Thelma Irene Wren, and brother, Maurice White.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Ann Fair White; two daughters, Jessica (the late Nicolas Soeder) White of Stanford and Jeannie (Billy) Lyons of Liberty; two grandchildren, Treyton Lyons, Ryelee Lyons; two sisters, Judy Gail (Marcus) Whitaker of Lawrenceburg and Barbara Ann Burchett of Danville.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. JR Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Anthony Pittman, Ronnie Boyd, Treyton Lyons, Billy Lyons, Phillip Short, Barry Cooley, Steven Cooley and Mark Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica White, Jeannie Lyons, Ryelee Lyons, Wayne Berry, Carl Boyd, Kenneth McElroy, Dennis Duck, Jerry White, Mike Savage, Renee West, Michelle West, Donovan Cooley, Brenda Cooley and Judy Whitaker. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.
