Gervis Belcher

Gervis Silvers Belcher, 80, of Junction City, passed away February 23, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born October 10, 1942 in Quinton, Kentucky to the late Lester and Delorus Thompson Silvers. Gervis is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Samuel Belcher, Jr. 

She was a caregiver for over 29 years, working in healthcare. Gervis loved her flowers, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren. 

Along with her husband, Gervis is survived by a son, Ricky D. Lane of Union City, Indiana; a daughter, Tamela Sparks (Nathan) of Gravel Switch; sisters, Arlene Hatchett (Jerry) of Springfield, Eva Devers (Jim) of Lawrenceburg, Nancy Belcher (Randy) of Parksville and Sue Scrogham (Kenny) of Alum Springs; grandchildren, Ricky C. Lane, Amanda Lane, Harley Faye Lane, Peyton Rose Lane, Katie Belcher, Kasey Belcher, Rhyann Anderson, Jake Young, and Cody Young, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by sons, Greg Lane and Samuel "Bo" Belcher, III; brothers, Joe Donald Silvers and James Denver Silvers and her infant grandson, Adam Lane.

Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Jeff Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Tuesday. 

Pallbearers will be Nathan Sparks, Ricky C. Lane, Jacob Young, Cody Young, David Finley, and Rowdy King.
