Geraldine Wilson Waits, 91 of Danville, died Thursday December 11, 2014. Born June 14, 1923 in Bell County, she was the daughter of the late Huston and Dora Ellen Lee Wilson. Geraldine graduated from Crab Orchard High School and was the valedictorian of her class. She also attended the Cubbage School in Bell County. She was a master seamstress and worked at Delco in Dayton, Ohio during WWII, then Genesco, Palm Beach Co. and retired from the Hub Frankel Co., all in Danville. She designed clothing, made her own patterns, upholstered, and appliquéd bedspreads. She traveled to many countries with her sister Mildred "Micki" and was a loving caregiver, mother, and grandmother. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband Edwin Waits, her daughter, Patsy Jean Waits and her siblings, Mildred "Micki" Offen, John Colson Wilson, Lucille Simon, and Glenn Stigall.Geraldine is survived by her grandchildren, Lesli Poynter of Louisville, Thomas Clay, Jr. of Jeffersonville, Catherine (Josh Harris) Clay of California, Ann (Ben) Rush of Danville, great grandchildren, Sean Poynter, Samuel Poynter, Cassius Harris, and Lance rush, nieces and nephews, Colson (Linda) Wilson of Brodhead, Marvin (Connie) Wilson of Hustonville, Paulette (Ken) Calia of Harrodsburg, Troy Stigall and Alan Stigall, both of Silver Springs, Fl.; a sister in law, Dorothy Stigall of Silver Springs, Fl., and a half sister, Marie Wilson.The funeral will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. -12 p.m., Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Sean Poynter, Samuel Poynter, Hiliary Trent, Don Vaught, Lee Board, Colson Wilson and Marvin Wilson. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
