Gerald Lewis

Gerald D. Lewis, 70, of Stanford, KY passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at home. Born February 9, 1943 to the late James Harvey and Ella Powell Lewis, he was a construction worker for most of his life, he was a member of Waynesburg 328 and McKinney Masonic Lodges, and Valley of Covington Scottish Rites, and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Glendale, Ohio.


Survivors include his wife for over forty years, Iva F. Lewis of Stanford, KY, two sons; Paul Lewis of Stanford, KY and Mike A. Lewis (Cheryl) of Georgetown, KY, one sister; Jacquelyn Doss (Harvey) of Stanford, KY, one sister-in-law; Joan Lewis of Manchester, KY, three grandchildren; Kira Shea Lewis, Cadence Elizabeth Lewis, and Piper Marie Lewis, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Mogan, Gene, Herman, and Larry Wayne Lewis, and two sisters; Irene Lewis and Cleo Miracle.


Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2013 from 5-9pm with a Masonic Service being presented at 7pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 2pm with Reverend Keith Bowling officiating. Both services will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel (Stanford). Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Danville, KY. Casket bearers will be Duval Sims, Douglas May, Denver Rose, Ketton Bowling, Lendell Bowling, Matthew Bowling. Honorary bearers are: Billy Phillips, Bill Hays, Lester Bowling, Tony Bowling, Lee Bowling, and G.S. Bowling.
