Age: 96
George Clancy Garrison, 96, of Stanford, KY, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. He was born June 3, 1919 in Paris, KY to the late Homer and Laura Bishop Garrison. He was the widower of Margaret Douglas Garrison. George was a WWII Army Veteran having served with the 149th Infantry, 38th Division, Company B. He was a delivery driver for RC Cola for several years, and retired from Matsushita in Danville, KY. He was a Charter member of Willow Grove Baptist Church and a member of Caswell Saufley Post #18 American Legion and Honor Guard member.
He is survived by a daughter, Darlene Adams (Robert) of Stanford, KY; two grandchildren, Erin Johnston (Brad) of Richmond, KY and Jason Sowder of Stanford, KY. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Leah Johnston and Logan Johnston. He is preceded in death by five brothers, J.T., William, Marion, Julian and Homer Garrison; and one sister, Lucille Crawford.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015, from 5-9 at Willow Grove Baptist Church, funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Willow Grove Baptist Church. Reverends Brad King and Johnny Thompson will be officiating. Military Honors will be presented by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post #18+
Casket Bearers will be Jason Sowder, Byron Crawford, Jim Garrison, Everett Garrison, David Garrison, Jimmy Garrison and Laddie Garrison.
Honorary Bearers will be members of Caswell Saufley American Legion Post #18.
Memorials in Lieu of flowers may be given to Heritage Hospice.
