Elsie Lawesse Hargis Cox, 90, of Danville died Sunday, December 28, 2014. Born February 26, 1924 in Dykes, Pulaski Co.,Ky., she was the daughter of Edgar and Lora Farmer Hargis Sr. Elsie was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church and an active member of Morning Stars Sunday School class. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Cox, a son, James "Yogi" Cox and a grandson, Billy Kimball.



Elsie is survived by a daughter, Sharon Woods of Harrodsburg and a son, Robert Cox Jr. of Charleston,S.C., a special niece, Lou Rogers; ten grandchildren, Teresa Higginbotham, Tim Woods, Missy Rolison, Bobby Jr King, Carla Powell, Cindy Lucianie, Sharon Nato, Jimmy Cox, Brian Benton, and Michael Benton, and twenty four great grandchildren.



The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Brent Rowe and Rev. Ernest Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jordan Woods, Trey Woods, Clyde Rogers II, Lari Busker, Robert Hignight, and Barry Moser. Honorary pallbearers will be the Morning Stars Sunday School class.
