Elizabeth "Libby" Elks, 54, of Danville, died Tuesday. Born December 13, 1956, she is the daughter of Lucy Jenkins Voorhies and the late Marion Voorhies. She was the widow of Robert Elks. Libby was a paralegal for Sheehan, Barnett, Dean & Pennington and a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughters, Kristina R. (David) Grubb and Stephanie A. Elks (Jeremy Brummett), both of Danville, a brother, Dennis (Barbara) Voorhies of Burgin, two sisters, Trudy Stevens of Danville and Regina Voorhies of Covington, and two grandchildren, Allie and Jackson Grubb.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home. Bill Barnett and Ray Cameron will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Lane Stevens, R.C. Cameron, Trent Arkeman, David Grubb, Jeremy Brummett and Delbert Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Atwood, Butch Elks, Ray Cameron, Bobby Fields, Bill Barnett, Vince Pennington, James Sheehan and Alec Russell. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society and Heritage Hospice
