In Loving Memory Of Edward ("Bunk") Montgomery Aug 30, 1927 - Nov 3, 2009 Lancaster, KY
Edward "Bunk" Montgomery, age 82, of Fork Church Road in Garrard County, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Tuesday, August 30, 1927 in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth May Montgomery. He was married to his loving wife, Lula Naylor Montgomery, for over 60 years. Bunk was a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church and retired from Classic Rattan in Nicholasville. He was a furniture maker, avid fisherman and hunter, and loved sports, especially the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
In addition to his wife, Bunk leaves behind one daughter, Margaret (Larry) McMillen of Willisburg; three brothers, R.C. (Tillie Jane) & Charlie Montgomery both of Danville, and Donnie (Jean) Montgomery of Mt. Washington; one sister, Mildred (Leroy) Davis of Lancaster; two grandchildren, John (Shawnetta) Allen and Kelly (Stephen) Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Brett Allen, Hailey Faas, and Stephen & Laura Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, G.T. & Eugene Montgomery; and two sisters, Frances Leathers and Flossie Cheatham.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2009 at Ramsey Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Bunk's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Active Pallbearers will be Mark, Danny, Ronnie, & Gary Montgomery, and Kenny & Larry Cheatham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marty, Richard, Brian & Tim Montgomery, and Billy Leathers.
