Edna Belle "Silvers" Padgett, 79, of Stanford died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Golden Living Center. She was born December 4, 1932 in Oil Center, Pulaski Co., KY to the late George P. "Tom" Silvers and Hester Zachary Silvers. She had been a cook, having worked at Waynesburg and Kings Mountain Elementary Schools for 37 years, also at Oran's Wagon Wheel in Pulaski Co, The Academy Inn in Lancaster and the Corner Cupboard in Kings Mountain. She was active in the Waynesburg 4-H and Southern Ladies Homemakers as well as a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Lynn Padgett McFalls (Jerry) of Waynesburg, Craig Padgett (Sharon) of Waynesburg and Elaine Brockman of Camp Nelson in Jessamine County; 7 grandchildren, Stacy Tatman, Tracy Crittendon, Travis McFalls (April), Justin Elam (Shae), Tonya Pike (Darren), Tiffany McFalls-Smith (James) and Seth Elam; 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 10 Step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Brockman and a brother Ramon J. Silvers.
Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2012, from 5-9 p.m., funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, December 7, 2012, all at Spurlin Funeral Home. Reverend Vola Brown will be officiating with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Darren Pike, Hunter Robbins, Hayden Tatman, Cory Greenwell, Travis McFalls and James Smith; Honorary Bearers will be Kenneth Goodin, Edna Mae Goodin and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Heritage Hospice and or your local food bank.
