Danville- Danielle "Dani" Thomas, age 27, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at her home in Astoria, New York. Danielle was born on Thursday, March 28, 1985 to Jamie Thomas Bright and the late Calvin D. Thomas in Boyle Co., KY.
Danielle was most recently a Senior Financial Analyst for the Weight Watchers Company. Before that Danielle worked for several years for the Walt Disney Company in Florida. She attended Boyle Co. High School where she was a member of the marching band for five years and also a section leader for them having played the Alto Saxophone. She attended both the University of Florida as well as the University of Central Florida where she was a member of the Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society.
She loved to attend University of Florida football games, go on Disney Cruises, attend concerts, skydiving, helping friends and family when they visited Disney properties, travel and she was a roller coaster enthusiast. Recently she took a trip to Mexico where she was able to enjoy a snorkeling trip in which she was able to swim with sharks. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her mother and grandmother and had recently surprised them by taking them on a Disney Cruise.
Along with her mother, Danielle is survived by her grandmother, Juanita Hardgrove of Danville; one great uncle Danny (Claudia) Randolph; one great aunt, Glenna Kissinger and her loving dog Schnoozer the Schnauzer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Danville, KY with Rev. Quentin Scholtz III officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday evening at the church.
Pallbearers will be Mike LaFavers, Tim Blevins, Bill Summers, Clint McCrystal, Josh Johnson, Ryan Thomason, Travis Marsh and Chris Morecroft.
Per the families' request, donations may be made to the Danielle Thomas Memorial Scholarship fund at any local Farmers Bank. The scholarship will be given to a Boyle Co. Band Senior who intends to pursue a degree in music education.
