Bonnie Shelby Thomas, 80, passed away Thursday July 17, 2014. Mrs. Thomas was born November 17, 1933 in Hickory Flat, Mississippi to the late Leonard and Jocie Lee Edwards Shelby and was the widow Daniel L. "Dan" Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Cold Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Casey County, worked with her husband in their store Dan's Oak Plus, worked in the cafeteria for the Danville Board of Education and dearly loved talking on the phone to her twin sister, Bobbie. Her grandchildren were the brightest spot in her life, she enjoyed making everyone's favorite food at family gatherings, and was always kind and loved people for who there are.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by two sons Cleveland Lavaughn "L.T." (Sandy) Thomas, Charlie (Sue) Thomas all of Danville, four grandchildren, Tara (Billy) Luster, Jessica (Matthew) Sapp, Kyle Thomas, and Adam Major, eight great-grandchildren, Laken Thomas, Brooklyn Farmer, Tyler Sapp, Austin Sapp, Cloie Luster, Landon Luster, Taylor Major, and Logan Major. She is also survived by her beloved twin sister, Bobbie Jean Shelby of Ripley Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dan, she was preceded in death by a brother Albert Shelby.
The funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Monday July 21, 2014 at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Price, Chaplain Dale Denton, and Bro. Keith Stillwell officiating. The committal service will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m., Sunday July 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Sims, Will Turpin, Adam Major, Kyle Thomas, Billy Luster, Matthew Sapp, and Landon Luster.
Honorary Bearer will be Robert Hill.
