Betty Jean Graham Wafford, 80, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, died Saturday, March 7, 2015. Born September 22, 1934 in Bryantsville, she is the daughter of the late James William and Edna Mae Durham Graham. She is the widow of Roy Lee Wafford. Betty was a collector of pigs and loved to play Bingo. She was an avid UK basketball fan. She was all about her family and if they needed it and she had it, she would give it to you. She said what she thought and would set you straight if she thought you should agree with something. She was hard headed but soft hearted. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Penny Sue Johnson.
She is survived by four children, Mike J. (Candace) Wafford of Lexington, Bruce W. (Donna Jo) Wafford of Stanton, Mark T. (Glenda) Wafford of Johnston, SC. and Kandi K. (Jeff Napier) Weller of Lexington, Ky.; eleven grandchildren, Feather Wafford, Justin (Stacy) Wafford, Savannah Wafford, Dexter Anderson, Nicole Wafford, Tommy (Kelly) Wafford, Carrie (Matt) Holston, Joe Campanella, Trisha Campanella, Jennifer (Milton) Adams, and Lanice (James) Goodin; fourteen great-grandchildren, Zoe Wafford, Logan Wafford, Martin Anderson, Madison Anderson, Jackson Wafford, Kahler Holston, Scott Holston, Michael Adams, Hope Adams, Jacob Adams, Hunter Goodin, Brittany Goodin, Elliot Wafford and Braxton Lee Powell; and one great-great grandchild, Riley Adams.
The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Stith Funeral Home. Thomas Wafford will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
